What are the Benefits of a Dog Listening Home Consultation?
A one-on-one Dog Listening Home Consultation provides the opportunity for the Dog Listener to observe your dog’s behavior in its natural environment, and to explain and demonstrate to you in person the best way to address particular behaviors exhibited by your dog.
A Home Consultation allows the Dog Listener to observe how your family members, both individually and as a whole, interact with your dog. The Dog Listener can then provide you with invaluable insight into the messages your dog is receiving from you, and help you interpret the communication your dog is giving you in return.
A Home Consultation gives your family the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the process of Amichien Bonding, and provides the context for the Dog Listener to make suggestions that are tailored specifically to your individual family and situation.
How Does a Dog Listening Home Consultation Work?
The average Home Consultation lasts 2-4 hours, during which time you will:
l Gain insight into the instincts that are the driving force behind your
dog's behavior -- he really isn't trying to be defiant!
l Learn how to work with those instincts to change your dog's behavior - since you're working with the language she already understands, no
force will be necessary to communicate what you want her to do.
l Learn the four core elements of Dog Listening, known as "Amichien
Bonding" -- the essential foundation for learning how to communicate
effectively with your dog.
l Gain a more in-depth understanding of pack dynamics -- you will be
provided with clear information that most pet professionals just
haven't been exposed to.
l Learn to become the trusted leader of your pack -- begin to
experience the freedom and joy of achieving the willing cooperation
of your dog.
l Learn hands-on how to address behavior problems and concerns
specific to your family situation, your dog's behavior and his
individual personality.
l Life brings changes, which can be just as unnerving for our dogs as it
is for us. Because some dogs react to even the smallest change by
asking questions (in their language) about our continued leadership
abilities, free backup support is provided for as long as you and your
dog are together.
When Will I See Improvement?
Free backup support is available to you for the lifetime of your dog. Life situations can change, a move is required, someone else (animal or human!) joins the “pack”, or nothing appears to change at all...we can't always know what in our confusing human world may appear threatening to our dogs and cause them to start asking questions about our leadership abilities again. If at any time, for any reason, your dog starts asking questions and you need some support, your Dog Listener will be there for as long as you and your dog share a life together.
Most often, people will notice changes in their dog's behavior during the Home Consultation. Overall, because each dog is different, and each situation is different, there is not a predictable, fixed timeline on the progress that will be made as you incorporate this new method into your life. Amichien Bonding is an on-going process, not just a one-time “quick fix”. The more consistently you live and practice the new principles of this method with your dog, the quicker you will see positive changes in your dog’s behavior.
